Rainy Lake Medical Center Names Chief Medical Officer, Chief Financial Officer International Falls, MN (June 25, 2009) — The Rainy Lake Medical Center Governing Board has named Robert Henshaw the organization’s Chief Financial Officer and Douglas Johnson, MD, Chief Medical Officer. Henshaw, who has served as the organization’s Interim CFO since January, 2008, was selected following a national search conducted by the board and QHR, the organization’s management company. As Chief Financial Officer, Henshaw will lead the Finance Department, which is responsible for day-to-day financial operations of RLMC, development of the budget and cost report, and preparation for the annual audit. "I'm excited to be staying at Rainy Lake Medical Center," Henshaw says. "In my time here, I have received a warm welcome, and I look forward to continuing to work with the RLMC team.” Prior to joining Rainy Lake Medical Center, Henshaw served as CFO for a 100-bed hospital in Oklahoma, and before that, as CFO for a 186-bed hospital in Colorado. He graduated from Northeast Oklahoma State University with a degree in Accounting and Business Administration. Dr. Johnson has practiced medicine in International Falls since 1976. As the CMO, he will provide leadership in all areas of clinical service; direct system-wide quality; facilitate clinical performance improvement; direct patient safety initiatives; develop best practices in managed care; and assist in improving the performance of physician practices. “I’ve been a member of the community’s healthcare team for many years,” Dr. Johnson says. “This is a natural, exciting next step for me.
