Emergency Department |
Rainy Lake Medical Center offers physician-staffed emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Rainy Lake Medical Center is in active compliance with Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) as regulated by federal legislation.
Patients arriving to RLMC are triaged by a Registered Nurse, who evaluates your condition and assigns you to the Emergency Room or to Convenience Care. All patients presented to Rainy Lake Medical Center by ambulance or with an emergent condition are taken directly to the ER.
The Emergency Room does not treat patients on a “first come, first serve” basis. A patient arriving after you may see the physician first depending on the seriousness of his or her condition.
You will be considered an Emergency Room patient if you have:
- Breathing problems
- Chest Pain
- Injuries from a vehicle accident
- Loss of consciousness
- Severe bleeding
- Complicated fractures
- Overdoses
- Convulsion or seizures
- or any time you are brought to Rainy Lake medical Center by ambulance.
