Rainy Lake Medical Center offers a Family Centered Model of Care, which means you stay in a private room throughout labor, delivery, and recovery (except in the case of a Cesarean Section).
RLMC staff promotes and encourages Mother-Baby Care, which means your baby stays in your hospital room with you. This time spent together fosters early bonding and offers the opportunity for trained staff to provide education.
Our private maternity rooms are equipped with comfortable furniture in home-like setting that can quickly transform into a delivery room.
RLMC obstetrical care nurses are certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and have received specialized training in the care of mothers and babies. A personal care nurse will be with you every throughout labor and post partum to provide you and your the best care possible.
While in the hospital, new moms enjoy nutritious meals from our Choice Menu. Our Family Pantry is available for juices and snacks for mom or her support person.
Rainy Lake Medical Center offers free childbirth education classes that consist of three two-hour sessions designed for the expectant mom and her coach to prepare for a healthy and safe birth experience. Understanding the stages of labor and knowing what to expect throughout the process can ease fears you may have, and learning relaxation techniques can make the experience more comfortable.
