Cheryl Stemm was awarded the Volunteer of the Year title. Sherry was nominated by nine RLMC employees. Below are a few snippets of a few nominations:

From Kris Foss, Rainy Lake Clinic Director: “Having the volunteers behind the greeter desk is a wonderful thing, not only for our staff, who truly appreciate all the tasks that are completed so efficiently, but for our patients who have come to expect that special welcome they receive when they walk in the door. A smiling face and friendly hello; information given or a question answered; directions provided or occasionally even a special escort to their destination..these things are wonderful ‘perks’ of being seen at Rainy Lake Clinic because our volunteers make this happen. They keep our coffee fresh and waiting room nice and neat, providing an inviting area for patients to wait. All of the volunteers deserve a big thank you for all that they do, but today I would like to extend a special thank you to Cheri Stemm, who has become nearly a fixture for us behind the greeter desk in the clinic! As Cheri said it “I really like it here – I am happy to come whenever they need me!” And it shows. There have been times that the desk would have been left empty if it were not for her easy acceptance of a “few more hours.” We are so blessed to have such a wonderful group of active volunteers who give of themselves to serve others. Our gratitude goes out to reach and every one of them.”

From Gina-Emauel-Roche, Rainy Lake Clinic Registrar: “Cheri is always very friendly to every patient that walks into our clinic. She has a warm, kind heart to all ages. She is willing to help with anything we need her to do. We absolutely love Cheri and thank her and the entire volunteer crew for everything they do for us.”

From Brooke Carlson, Rainy Lake Clinic LPN: “Cheryl always has a smile on her face and is always willing to go the extra mile for a patient. She is quick to engage in conversation and is such a positive person. We love having her as one of our many amazing Auxiliary volunteers.”
