MRIs at Rainy Lake Medical Center
provide patients with the latest technology and diagnostic imaging software—right here at the hospital, available for your care. Images from our MRI machine are clearer than ever, resulting in sharp, detailed images of the organs and tissues
within the body—without the use
of radiation.

CT scans combine
a series of low-dose X-ray
images taken from different angles and use computer processing to show images of bones, blood vessels, and soft tissues. Our in-house, state-of-the-art, 64-slice CT scanner creates high-resolution images within seconds, providing high-quality images for your diagnosis.

RLMC offers patients a powerful new diagnostic imaging system known as PET/CT. This hybrid technology combines the strengths of two well-established imaging modalities in one imaging session to more accurately diagnose and locate cancers while increasing patient comfort. A PET/CT scan is noninvasive, painless and takes about 30 minutes.

Digital Radiography

Digital Radiography (DR) is similar to a conventional X-ray, but produces images digitally rather than on film. This method is faster—almost instantaneous—and more consistent. Our DR table is easily accessible, ideal for elderly or orthopedic patients. We also offer a portable DR for emergency or bedside imaging.

Pain Management Injections

Rainy Lake Medical Center offers a variety
of pain management options including image-guided injections, such as epidurals, facet, sacroiliac, and all joint injections to help with acute or chronic pain management. Fluoroscopy (live imaging) or CT scans are often used in conjunction with injections given for pain management.

Digital Breast Tomosynthesis

Rainy Lake Medical Center’s new tomosynthesis equipment has taken breast imaging to a whole new level. Called SenoClaire, this advanced 3-D imaging technology is able to reduce blur and increase sharpness, providing images that are so clear and precise, early cancer detection—and survival—is more probable than ever before.

Accurate, comfortable breast imaging

Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) is
a breast-screening technique that makes breast cancers easier to see in dense breast tissue, while making the procedure more comfortable than a conventional mammogram. DBT takes multiple 3-D X-rays of each breast from many angles, quickly and safely.

Safe testing practices

During any mammography screening, we keep radiation levels as low as possible. Our 3-D imaging technology uses the same low dose as
a standard 2-D mammogram, meaning there is not increased radiation to patients during breast exams. In fact, radiation is concentrated in one area, reducing scattered radiation while improving the scan’s clarity and accuracy.

State-of-the-art technology

Digital Breast Tomosynthesis is world-class technology that is enhancing our ability to detect cancer in its earliest stages, increasing the survival rates of women of all ages. While tomosynthesis is usually not found outside of metropolitan areas, we have this state-of-the-art technology right here, close to home—for you.
