Therapy and Wellness Department

Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy

Rainy Lake Medical Center is committed to offering a wide range of treatment options in International Falls. This is demonstrated in the Therapy and Wellness department’s mission of “Empowering you to heal your body, meet your goals, and improve your life” and carried out in our priority of providing better care to our patients right here, close to home.

For patients needing physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy, RLMC’s experienced Therapy and Wellness staff is made up of five physical therapists, three occupational therapists, one speech language pathologist (speech therapist), and one therapy assistant. Our highly qualified therapists evaluate and treat people with health problems resulting from injury and disease, with the primary purpose of promoting optimal health and wellness. Our primary goal is to help people in our community get the therapy services they need, right here at home.

Therapy and Wellness Center Expansion

Rainy Lake Medical Center’s dedication to our patients led us to remodel and expand our Therapy and Wellness Center—now nearly double in size. Improvements to the Therapy and Wellness Center include additional private exam rooms and therapy equipment for our growing team of therapists to provide treatments for patients of all ages with their needs in regards to:

<strong>physical therapy</strong>
<strong>occupational therapy</strong>
<strong>speech therapy</strong>

A separate registration area and new entrance are another added convenience for patients. Parents of pediatric patients are able to hear and see their child’s activities with the new parent viewing window.

Inpatients and outpatients will both benefit from the Therapy and Wellness Center’s new Activities of Daily Living (ADL) simulated apartment space. The space features a fully functioning kitchen with major appliances, a furnished living space, and a bathroom with sink, tub/shower combination, and dressing area. When hospital patients prepare to leave the facility and return home, they need to be able to handle the physical challenges of day-to-day life. Being able to work in the simulated apartment can allow people to regain their independence and successfully return home.
