Cardiac Rehab and Diagnostic Services

Cardiac Rehab is a safe, effective rehabilitation and prevention service for patients who have cardiovascular disease or who are at risk of developing the disease.

The Cardiac Rehab and Diagnostic Services offers:

  • Stress tests: Standard treadmill stress tests as well as nuclear medicine stress testing
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Echocardiograms (EKG)
  • Zio Patch: Cardiac monitoring system
  • ABI Testing (Ankle-Brachial Index Test):  A test that compares the blood pressure in your ankles to the pressure in your arms to help determine if your legs are getting the proper amount of blood supply.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation and Diagnostic Services program at Rainy Lake Medical Center also offers an adult exercise program specially designed for patients at risk of, or with a history of, heart disease. The goal is to strengthen the heart and return patients to normal activities of daily living.

Candidates for the program include those people who:

  • Have had a heart attack
  • Have heart failure
  • Have been diagnosed with angina
  • Have had coronary artery bypass surgery
  • Have had pacemaker or heart-valve surgery

The exercise program is overseen by a specially trained cardiac rehabilitation nurse and physician.

With a physician’s referral, patients may attend Cardiac Rehabilitation exercise and nutrition classes. Questions? Call us at 218.283.5455
